BiasRadar is a real-time transparency platform that reveals how algorithms treat different users differently. It allows multiple users to browse the same website simultaneously (co-browsing) to detect personalization in prices, content, and search results.
Websites use algorithms to optimize for engagement and profit. This can lead to price discrimination (charging more if they think you'll pay it), steering (showing you specific products), or filtering (hiding content based on your profile).
Yes. BiasRadar uses a local-first architecture. We sync the page structure (DOM) directly between peers using WebRTC. Your cookies, login tokens, and browsing history stay on your device and are never stored on our servers.
Only if you are hosting. Guests do not need to install anything. See the "Chrome Extension & Sessions" section below for more details.
Only the host (the person starting the session) needs to install the BiasRadar Chrome Extension. Guests can join instantly via a shared link from any modern browser without installing anything.
BiasRadar supports up to 4 users per session (1 host + 3 guests). This ensures low latency and a focused collaborative environment for bias detection and research.
BiasRadar is not traditional screen sharing. It is a co-browsing engine. Guests see a synchronized rendering of the webpage the host is visiting, but they cannot see your other tabs, desktop notifications, or other applications. You maintain complete privacy over your local machine.
The Host Extension is available for Chromium-based browsers (Google Chrome, Brave, Microsoft Edge, Arc, Opera). Guests can join from any modern web browser, including Firefox and Safari.
No. The host guides the journey (clicking and navigating). Guests are observers who can see the page, chat, and use annotation tools, but they cannot click links, type forms, or control the host's browser. This prevents accidental actions and maintains security.
